Alaina finished breakfast this morning and immediately headed to the couch with her newest favorite book. She wrapped herself up in the blanket and began reading. She’s got the right idea on this chilly Saturday morning.

Butterfly Mother’s Day

We celebrated Mother’s Day at Krohn Conservatory yesterday. The butterfly display was in full effect. They would fly right up to you and land on your hand or shirt. Alaina wasn’t too sure about them. She would seek out one of us if one got too close. Krohns is such a nice, clean, well run facility and so nice to have so close to home.

One of Alaina’s new favorite pastimes is learning and singing new songs. She knows 5-6 songs. Enough to release her own EP album. And her own music videos complete with choreography.

Christmas in March?

The three of us were out to dinner at Skyline Chili last night while our house had some potential buyers looking at it. We were half way through our meal when Alaina started randomly saying, “Ho, Ho, Ho!”. She kept this up for a couple minutes before we realized it wasn’t random at all. There was a gentleman two tables away with stark white hair and an equally impressive white beard. By this time it was too late Alaina’s Ho, Ho, ho-ing was an all out chant and “Santa” and his family were now looking our way. Busted.

Luckily, “Santa” lived up to his kind reputation. He was actually growing out his beard in anticipation of Christmas. Alaina was just providing unsolicited validation.

So it begins, just one of many public miscues to come. We only hope they all end as well as this.
